Schecter Guitar Research is a premium manufacturer of electric, bass, acoustic, and custom guitars. Their products are used by many popular musical acts, including Prince, The Cure, Avenged Sevenfold, and many more. Schecter has teamed with Informatics, Inc., a web development company from Cedar Rapids, IA, to create a new website with an updated look and feel and increased functionality.

Schecter’s previous site was generated in Flash, a program that drastically increases the time and effort it takes to update content. After initial meetings, it was decided that Schecter needed a Content Management System, which would allow them to update the site’s content and imagery at their convenience.

Additional and unique functionality has also been added to the site. An extensive dropdown navigation menu creates a direct avenue for visitors who know exactly what they want to find, with both guitar and bass dropdowns displaying every instrument in their category. Visitors can also use the sites guitar widget to select specific instrument features that in turn sorts and displays the guitars or basses. Visitors can sort by body shape, number of strings, number and size of frets, bridge, price, and left or right hand orientation.

The site also features a wealth of content. An artists page displays all of Schecter’ professional music relationships, a news page is updated with the latest Schecter related stories, and a vault page lists discontinued instruments. A blog page, merch page, and dealers page provide further content for visitors. The site also includes a Schecter TV section full of artist videos, equipment demonstrations, music videos, and more.
